SABRINA MATA

Born and raised in Rio de Janeiro

Her first contact with yoga was in 2002 where she found herself flowing with the breath. Always sensitive and fascinated about the holistic world, she studied Chromotherapy and Reiki while finishing Law School in Brazil, and published two poetry books in her country.

Attracted by the multi cultured world, creative, fashion lover and inspired by Paulo Coelho's books and the strong colors of Frida Kahlo, Sabrina had an unconventional early motherhood experience when she was a teenager, which was a mark on her path and a deep life experience providing her a precocious sense of responsibility, compassion and spiritual awakening.

In 2007 she came to Los Angeles and met Bryan Kest Power Yoga, a studio in Santa Monica where she found strength and balance to support her new journey with her daughter. Yoga has been part of her immigrant transition, her excited adventures and the best discipline to dive deep through her soul to discover more about herself.

In 2015 she immersed herself in the 500 hours Yoga Teacher Training program at Yogaworks, and kept expanding her knowledge by taking trainings such as 100 hours of "Smart Flow" with Annie Carpenter,  27 hours “OTM - Yoga, Purpose & Action Leadership Intensive” with Seane Corn, 40 hours Trauma-Informed Yoga, 50 hours Yin Yoga, 50 hours Yoga Sculpt and 85 hours of Prenatal and Postpartum YTT; registered at the Yoga Alliance.

Living the life she dreamed, Sabrina Mata moved forward associating herself with yoga, wellness, plant based diet, fashion and beauty brands, which align with her lifestyle and personal goals in the USA, Europe and Brazil, as an ambassador and a co-partner in projects. She keep investing all of her time in the development of her skills and helping others to blossom the best they care on themselves as yoga students, and as human beings.

“Yoga is a great tool to overcome limits, expand self-knowledge, stimulate love and provide acceptance on and out of the mat. Everything starts inside of our hearts.”
